LG HOME THEATER MODEL DH3140S COME DEAD NOW REPAIRED.

I received this home theater from a client who wanted it checked by a tech, I applied the power and noted there was no sign of life.

I opened up the machine and proceeded to scan the whole system, beginning with the power board and later motherboard.

I noted two capacitors with top part slightly swollen on the power supply section, usually if you get a capacitor with top part swollen it is advisable to replace it directly with testing.

Understanding home theater Channels

Most people have problem in understanding home theater channels, in this article i am going to shed some light on the same.

Sometimes we see home theaters written 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2 and so on.

What does this mean?

This refers to channels; you may think of channels as speakers.

Old stereo system is now referred to as 2.0(2 channels or 2 speakers)

           2.1 has 2 speakers and 1 subwoofer

           7.1 has 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer

5.1.2 has 5 speakers,1 subwoofer and 2 dolby atmos speakers

Dolby Atmos speakers- where we place 2 or more speakers on the ceiling, now we are talking of 3D sound, where any sound can hover at any point in space.

Example: 7.2.1 has 3 speakers in front, 2 at the sides, 2 at the rear of the room and 2 in the ceiling and 1 subwoofer at the back (can be placed anywhere).

Sony home theater push power protection error now repaired. (Model DAV-DZ270)

A client home theater displayed “push power protection” error on its display board and figured out that this could be a small issue and can be sorted out by himself.

So he decided to ask google and when he did the search for the error google referred him here.

After going through the article he noted the writer of the article is from Kenya and being also a Kenyan decided to call me to help him out on this funny error.

When I received his call he told me that he is from Nairobi and wanted to know which part of Nairobi I come from so that we can link up.

I told him our shop is in Utawala and to his surprise he was also from Utawala, a walking distance from my shop.

I booked him the appointment and came the following Saturday after work since he works around the area (Jomo Kenyatta international Airport).

After receiving him in my shop we did a little introduction and work begins.

First was to confirm what the customer said and therefore I plugged the machine to the power socket and pressed power on button and this is what I saw.

Sony home theatre DVD receiver model HBD-DZ350 dead now repaired

My neighbour brought to me this DVD receiver to my shop for repair a few days ago.

I did my usual initial test by connecting it to the power outlet even before opening it.

I noted the machine was powering on briefly and then shutdown, with this I concluded that the machine is getting powered but shutting down due to overload somewhere within the system.

With this in mind now it is time to open up and find out where the problem is.

Samsung HT-Z220 Home Theater System dead now repaired

This Samsung was brought to my workshop and the customer said that the set could no power on though the standby LED was on.
This problem was caused by electricity fault.
To confirm what the customer said I connected the set to power socket, for sure the standby LED on the power button was on though blinking.
This confirmed that the set could be having power problem.
